Dear ravi I am working in a TV channel, and I am l based at Uttaranchal's capital Dehradun. Here I have only an assistant and moreover I have to work as a reporter-cum-cameraman. My problem is that since *** is regional channel beamed in the south India or say Maharastra and I am posted in North India. My news coordinator says that I must keep viewership in mnd before sending a story. Though he is right on his part but my desk chief asks me to file stories even on regional issue. I am in dilema to whom to follow. As it seems that there is no cordination between desk chief and news cordinator. Pls. suggest me how to cope with the situation. Regards

My Reply:

I agree that you are not in a very comfortable position. But you need to understand that the Co-ordinator decides what goes into the programme, so it makes more sense to follow his instructions. Try to explain the ground reality to your desk chief. If this does not solve your problem write a letter giving details of your problem with examples directly to your headquarters.

dear sir, i am interested to become journalist.please provide me information about it. thanking you.

I am interested in getting into brosdcast journalism and was woundering what type of college classes I would need to take in order to get a head start. Thanks a lot! -

My Reply:

In order to become a TV Journalist, you need to do a course in Broadcast Journalism. Institutes like Jamia Millia and IIMC in Delhi, offer Mass Commuication courses which will also help you start head on. These are Post-Graduate Courses and along with a first class degree, you are also expected to clear entrance tests. Other way is to start as an Intern in some of the well known Television Companies and learn Television as you work. I am sure there are other institutes and universities throughout the world which offer such degrees and diplomas.
